France, Germany, and Italy to Strengthen Cooperation on Key Raw Materials
July 10, 2023On July 2nd, the French, German, and Italian governments jointly issued a statement that they will strengthen cooperation to ensure stable access to key raw materials. According to the statement, the three countries agreed to coordinate proposals in the field of critical raw materials and reached consensus on the proposed amendment to the EU's Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). The three countries call for the development of incentive measures to promote strategies and the reuse and recycling of key raw materials, as well as relevant standards for environmental protection and social governance. The second is to call for the expansion of CRMA's list of key minerals. The third is to strengthen project cooperation among the three countries to ensure the entire supply chain from mining to processing to recycling, exchange data, and share relevant standards. Fourthly, establish a working group composed of experts from the mineral resources regulatory departments of the three countries to promote the implementation of the aforementioned initiatives.
